In principle, Elpress always offers booster units for your industrial cleaning system in combination with a break tank. This prevents water with additives from the business process being able to flow back into the water mains.
A so-called ‘water lock’, for example in the form of a break tank, is increasingly becoming a requirement. But Elpress also advises installing a break tank in situations where one is not required. The main reasons:

Operation
A break tank is installed between the water meter and the booster unit of the cleaning system. The tank acts as a kind of buffer between the water mains and the pipe network of the cleaning system and has an automatic filling system. Level sensors measure the water level in the tank. When it contains enough water, the supply from the water mains is shut off. If the water level is too high, the excess water is discharged via an overflow. This prevents water flowing back from the break tank into the public drinking water network. The break tank is made from stainless steel and ensures optimal hygiene.
Capacity of the break tank
The size of the break tank depends on the capacity of the booster unit. Naturally, it is important that the tank always supplies the pump with a sufficient quantity of water. Elpress always advises a suitable break tank based on the capacity of your industrial cleaning system. Another advantage of a break tank: because the tank for a water reservoir between the water mains and the pump, there is a constant supply of water. This guarantees stable water consumption.
